Spring Forward

Signs of Spring are starting to pop up around Seattle. Flowers are starting to bloom and we are getting more days filled with sunshine, which is a welcome change of pace from the rain. The change of season means new Spring collections are popping up in the fashion world and I’ve been loving what I’m seeing. The collections from Tory Sport, Kule, and J. Crew have been some of my favorites. I’m loving the return of the polo shirt and all things preppy. All of these designers are heavily featuring tennis logos, stripes, and the color green, which inspired this table.

This tablescape is giving me major country club vibes. The navy and white table linens are two of my favorites. I feel like they go with everything. The tablecloth from Pepper Home is made from thick cotton, which makes it easy to care for. The pattern is also great at disguising wrinkles if you’re in a pinch and can’t iron your tablecloth before setting the table. I’m terrible when it comes to ironing and try to avoid it at all costs. I recently purchased spray starch from The Laundress, a luxury laundry brand, which has made the task a bit more enjoyable. I definitely recommend it! The napkins are from Jonathan Adler’s Mykonos collection and fit perfectly with the preppy theme.

The plates are really the star of the table. I layered malachite and citrino plates from Richard Ginori’s Oriente Italiano collection over white scalloped dinner plates from Williams Sonoma. Layering the two plates added depth and a bit more interest to the table design. Bright glassware and green coasters kept with the playful vibe I was going for. Happy yellow tulips and tapered candles finished the look. Cheers!
