Bitossi is a contemporary Italian brand known for their whimsical dishes, glassware, and accessories. I first discovered the brand at Le Bon Marche while I was on a work buying trip in Paris in early 2020. I fell in love with the quirky patterns of their Bel Paese collection, but sadly I wasn’t able to bring any pieces home with me at the time. I snapped a photo of the bottom of the plate and hoped that I would be able to track them down when I got home. Do any of you do that too? A quick google search brought up dozens of beautiful pieces from Bitossi’s various collections. I was hooked! I ended up purchasing the round platter from the Bel Paese collection in all four of the available patterns and my three favorite fruit plate designs. The fruit plates work well for starters or salads and the oversized platter makes a great dinner plate – just keep in mind that it is larger than your average dinner plate. 🙂
I knew I wanted to create a table using the Bel Paese Collection (read more about it here) that was colorful and just as fun as the dishes themselves. Bright glassware and my favorite mix and match flatware from Capdeco helped me achieve the vibe I was going for. Most of the plates have red accents, so I decided to use a red and white tablecloth. This is the second tablecloth that I’ve purchased from Pepper Home in the Ginger print and it is so versatile. I can’t recommend it enough! The addition of the runner added some natural texture and toned down the pattern just a bit. Fresh herbs and lemons created a centerpiece that mirrored the citrus and leafy motifs featured on the dishes. The scent was divine! A mix of votives, candles, and table lamps rounded out the look. Now bring on the pasta. Salute!
