It’s no secret that I love a themed table and Memorial Day is no exception. The holiday definitely calls for red, white, and blue. I mixed some old favorites along with some new napkins I picked up from Julia Amory’s Summer collection. She released some beautiful new prints that I highly recommend checking out for any upcoming outdoor entertaining.
I usually host my Memorial Day day picnic outside (weather permitting in Seattle), which calls for a more relaxed table. Melamine plates in fun prints are perfect for the occasion. They look great, they’re usually pretty affordable, and they can be popped right in the dishwasher at the end of the meal. I’ve had this set for a few years and they still look brand new.
My rechargeable table lights are another great addition to the table. I’ve been seeing these everywhere lately in lots of different price points (I’m adding these to my wish list). My set is from a brand called Fatboy and they last for 8 hours and have 3 light settings…..perfect for those nights that the conversation outlasts sunset.
Memorial Day is a big grill day at our house. Hot dogs, burgers, and chicken are typically on the menu. Have guests bring a side and a beverage of their choosing and your menu is set. Cheers!
